Week of 4/2/2017 - Patreon is Go!

Hi guys!

Nothing much to report on the production side this time -- I've been spending time with a friend whose father had recently passed on this week, so I haven't had much time to work on the project.

However, we have recently unveiled our Patreon page with 5 different perks for patrons to choose from. We hope to use Patreon as a fundraising platform for the project.

So, you're probably wondering: "What the f@$k is Patreon?!"

Long story short, Patreon is basically a fundraising platform similar to Kickstarter and Indiegogo, except instead of donating once per project, you donate a small bit of money once a month to your favorite artist. Each Patreon Creator works differently and offers different perks -- some work on music and livestream vocal/instrumental sections, some work on Let's Play videos, and some, like us, work on animation and movies.

So here's how our Patreon works: You donate $1 USD per month, and we give you a Special Thanks on our "Become a Patron" page. If you donate $5 USD per month, you will get daily updates as opposed to weekly updates, in addition to our Special Thanks -- or, if you choose the Exclusive $5 perk, you can also gain access to a monthly live stream watching us at work via Discord. If you donate $10 USD per month, you get everything at the $5 level, plus an EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOAD of any new video clip we release -- or, again for the more daring Patron, access to the aforementioned live stream through Discord.

To put this in perspective: $1 USD per month is the price of a can of soda or a bottle of water. $1 per month x 500 donors = $500 per month.

$5 USD per month is equivalent to a good dinner. $5 USD per month x 500 donors = $2500 per month.

$10 USD per get the idea, yes?

Please note: if you can't donate, we understand. We all have the burdens of real life to deal with. We will continue pursuing Earth-Link Origins despite how many patrons we get. But if you are able to donate -- and spread the word about us -- it would help us speed along production quite a bit, meaning we could get the project produced as a faster pace. We would like to eventually use Patreon to pursue this project (and future ones) full time, but we all start somewhere, and any amount of money donated will help towards that goal.

We plan on tweaking our perks as this Patreon page grows, and eventually want to give our lowest tier donors more than just a Special Thanks later down the line. We are also looking into other options to offer to donors, including posters, T-shirts, etc.

Our Patreon page is located here:

We also have a giant button on our "Become a Patron" page that will take you to it directly.

If you have any questions, please feel free to comment!

Thanks and best regards,

-Chris K
